Paul's musical background comes from his artistic family. His mother played piano and sang in the church choir as well as his sister. His mother was also an artist - oil painting while listening to big band swing. Paul's father played guitar in his early years in an unknown band from Minnesota called the Lawrence Welk Orchestra. Paul's brother played bass through out high school and in college in various surf bands.

Paul started playing bass at an early age of 11 when his loving brother handed down his Sears Silvertone bass and amp. Paul soon joined a band in Jr. High School. He then shortly switched to acoustic 12 string guitar through his high school years and beyond. After continuing to play in his 20's and 30's, he found that the demand for yet another guitarist was dwindling.  He soon switched back to bass, his first love.

Being a self-taught musician, Paul has had many musical influences that have shaped his personal style such as rock, blues, R&B, Motown, soul, pop, Latin, jazz, folk, country rock, and many other fusions of music. Truly “A musician that plays from the heart, and feels the music in his soul”, he is also a very creative composer that writes from the depths of his emotion.

Venues Paul has played in the past have been The Legendary B.B. King Blues Club in LA * George Lucas' Halloween Party - Marin County * Fund Raiser for the Governor of California.
