Paul Feia - Bass, Lead & Background Vocals, Percussion and Effects Pedals and a heck of a nice guy!
Dean Everett - Keyboards, Sax, Flute, Lead & Background Vocals
| From the moment Bill listened to a guy on the radio
named Lonnie Mack doing an instrumental version of "Memphis", he was hooked on
guitar. "Whenever I heard that song come on the radio, I grabbed a broom stick and
started wailing." Bill played in several bands including the Copper Poppy
(people thought they were the Copper Potty), Labyrinth (very few people could pronounce
it, much less spell it), and the Burger City Stompers (which has currently reformed as the
Veggie Burger Country Nice Guys). Bill majored in music in college where he learned just enough theory and arranging to irritate the heck out of the rest of the guys with the "subtle nuances" he claims to hear when the band is working on a new tune. Along the way, Bill was lucky enough to hook up with a group that was backing some stars from the 50's and 60's and got to work with such artists as Chuck Berry, The Coasters, The Drifters, The Platters, Del Shannon, Peter Noone (Herman's Hermits), Mary Wells, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Percy Sledge, Sam Moore (Sam and Dave) and Bo Diddley. Bill is making a living strictly from music. Besides playing in the band, he teaches guitar at a music store. Bill is fortunate enough to have the support and love from his wife Katie, who never complains about all the time he devotes to practicing, rehearsing and gigging. |
| From the greater Miami area, Dan started playing
drums in the seventh grade back in...not really important, but basically out of peer
pressure. Actually the real reason he picked up drumming was out of default.
Everyone he knew was playing guitar or bass. Dan considered banjo, but the dork
factor kicked in, so he settled for drums. Throughout his junior and senior high school phases, he took every band class he could (that's how he got a passing grade). Moving up a few years, Dan (then known as Danny) was the member of a local band, the "World of Matter". The band had at times seven pieces (three lead singers!) and became a well known group in the area. Dan (and the alumni of the group) must thank his father (actually mom & dad) who was the band's manager and mentor. Moving up a few years, Dan played in other popular Miami bands including "Lips" and "Hemlock". Hemlock recorded a movie soundtrack ("Swap Meet" with the 1978 Penthouse playmate of the year and Danny DeVito. No it wasn't porno, just a stupid "Car Wash" wannabe) and recorded for Warner Curb records. One of their records (a 12" disco, remember those?) sold in excess of 100,000 copies. Moving up quite a few years, Dan is now a computer specialist with a federal government agency. He played in various SF bay area bands after moving there from Miami in 1984. He has been in "Mixed Nuts" since August 1996. Dan enjoys playing with a band that is so diverse. "To be able to pull off modern rock, classic rock, country, rhythm and blues, funk, jazz standards and even disco in the same night is amazing. And we've even learned traditional Jewish songs to boot". Dan spends his spare time practicing his drums and riding bicycles (check out his personal page below) |

Paul's musical background comes
from his artistic family. His
mother played piano and sang in the church choir
as well as his sister. His mother was also an
artist - oil painting while
listening to big band swing. Paul's father played guitar in his early
years in an unknown band from Minnesota called the
Lawrence Welk
Orchestra. Paul's brother played bass through out high school and
in college in various surf bands.
Paul started playing bass at an early age of 11 when
his loving brother handed down his Sears
Silvertone bass and amp.
Paul soon joined a band in
Jr. High School.
He then shortly switched to acoustic 12
string guitar through
his high school years and beyond. After continuing to
play in his 20's and 30's,
he found that the demand for yet another guitarist was dwindling. He
soon switched back to bass,
his first love.
Being a self-taught musician, Paul has had many musical influences that have shaped his personal style such as rock, blues, R&B, Motown, soul, pop, Latin, jazz, folk, country rock, and many other fusions of music. Truly “A musician that plays from the heart, and feels the music in his soul”, he is also a very creative composer that writes from the depths of his emotion. |
